    Blair Tuke explains what brought the Defender of America’s Cup title to reach out to Dainese

    “The speeds that boats are reaching these days in sailing are pretty phenomenal, and with that there’s a lot more force on the bodies. For that reason we contacted Dainese, who have been in the MotoGP industry for a long time, for the humans and athletes who race in there that’s something they are lot more accustomed to...”  

     

    Emirates Team New Zealand, defending champion of America’s Cup, has been working with Dainese since 2016 to bring protection in sailing. Blair Tuke, part of the crew, explains why they reached out to Dainese, to let the team free to express themselves freely and safely on ever faster yachts. Together with the technological level of sailboats, speed and stress applied to the athletes increased. This is why Dainese developed Sea-Guard, a protective vest specifically designed for America’s Cup regattas.
